MEMORANDUM
OF UNDERSTANDING (MoU)
BETWEEN
THE
INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS (
AND
THE
INSTITUTION OF ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERS
1. Preamble
Ø
The
Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI) and the Institution of Electronics and
Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) have entered into this MOU on 25 Feb 2010 at
New Delhi to promote the development of a closer working relationship for
mutual benefit of their members and in the interest of the engineering
profession.
Ø
Attendance
of the members at technical events organised by the other organisation will be
on the same conditions as applicable to the members of the host organisation.
Ø
Publications
to members of the other organisation shall be available at same rates as applicable
to host Institution members.
Ø
IEI
and IETE jointly agree to facilitate and adopt mutually acceptable norms for
admission to the different class of membership in both the Institutions.
Ø
IEI
and IETE will exchange all publications on complimentary basis. Both the Institutions agree to prominently
display publications of the other Institution in their respective libraries for
review by members.
Ø
IETE
and IEI will reciprocate recognition of Courses/ Degree/ Diploma certificates
for membership of respective Institutions.
Ø
Joint
sponsoring/ organizing of seminars, conferences and meetings of mutual interest
will be encouraged. Efforts would be made by both the parties to organize at
least one joint technical activity every year. Details shall be finalized for each joint
activity on case to case basis.
Infrastructure facilities of both the
Institutions shall be available to undertake professional activities on
mutually acceptable terms.
Ø
IEI
and IETE will develop a Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP) relating to
technical education and certification of competence of engineers of relevant
discipline.
Ø This MoU shall continue for three years. Thereafter, it will be renewed automatically for a further period of three years if not terminated by either organisation. Amendments to the MoU may be proposed at any time but will be valid only on the approval of the Councils of both the organisations.
Ø
The
MoU may be terminated by either organisation on giving six month notice in
writing.
Ø
The
MoU shall not be binding until it has been formally approved by the Councils of
both the IEI and IETE.
