Status of Recognition of IETE Courses by MHRD
 

MHRD in its Counter Affidavit (W.P.(C) No. 6226/2013) filed on 21 Apr 2014 in Hon’ble High Court of Delhi for Institution of Engineers and Fire Engineers who are co-applicants with IETE, has reiterated that “ ~ institutions who have been granted recognition in the past for the purpose of employment in central government, but since the Govt has taken steps to have a curb on the issue of equivalence and recognition, subsequently letter of dated 06.12.2012 was issued by the Ministry wherein it was informed that ‘all those students who are enrolled with the institutions with permanent recognition upto 31.05.2013 would be eligible for consideration in accordance with MHRD order in force pertaining to their course for equivalence in Central Govt jobs. However, these concerned orders will cease to have effect from 01.06.2013 onwards’.”

Hence the recognition of the students enrolled as on 31 May 2013 is valid.

 
Present Status
 

AICTE and MHRD did not file their replies in the office of Joint Registrar of Hon. Delhi High Court on 23-04-2014. The Joint Registrar gave them a further period of 4 weeks for filing the replies failing which a cost of Rs 5000 /- will be imposed on the respondents. The next date of proceedings before the Joint Registrar of Hon. Delhi High Court is 31 Jul 2014.



Current status in respect of IETE writ petition No. W.P.(C.) N. 3239/2013 & CM Appl. 6125/2013 in respect of recognition of its Courses by MHRD.

The above writ petition filed by IETE HQ in Delhi High Court on 13 May 2013 came up for 5th hearing on 09 Jan 2014.

The Hon’ble High Court directed the parties to complete the pleadings before the Joint Registrar on 23 Apr 2014 before the next date of hearing.  The Joint Registrar is directed to list these matters before the Court after completion of the pleadings. Interim Order will continue.

Status in respect of recognitions granted for the examinations conducted by IETE.

  

           A writ petition was filed by the Institution in Delhi High Court on 13 May 2013 for quashing the orders of MHRD dated 10 July 2012 and 06 Dec 2012 withdrawing the recognition in perpetuity for equivalence in Central Govt jobs after 31 May 2013.  The writ petition came up for hearing on 17 May, 21 May and 23 May 2013.

 

          The Hon’ble High Court, Delhi is pleased to stay the orders of the Ministry of Human Resource Development dated 06 Dec. 2012 with respect to the dead line of 31 May 2013 till the next date of hearing i.e. 06 Aug 2013.  However, the admissions, which are made, will be subject to final orders, which will be passed in the writ petition.

 

          The matter came up for further hearing before the Delhi High Court on 06 Aug 2013.

          On the last date of hearing of our Writ Petition in Hon. High Court Delhi, following order has been issued

                    (i) The case listed for next hearing on 9th January 2014.

                    (ii) The OM dated 6/12/2012 with respect to the dead line of 31/05/2013 qua the petitioners shall remain stayed till further of the Court.

 

The above statement does not affect students who have passed & enrolled for IETE courses before 31st May 2013.

 

The last date of hearing of our case regarding recognitions of our courses from MHRD was 9th Jan 2014 in Hon'ble High Court of Delhi. The Hon'ble High Court has decided the interim orders to continue.
