Shri Sunil, President IETE (2024-25)
INTENT :
Leveraging my 3.5 decades of multi-dimensional experience with Govt. of India, strong network and team oriented approach, envisions a re-engineered IETE through well defined roadmap, with support from State machinery & GC members. Would bring visibility and relevance with National Agenda of Techade, redefine the Publications and create value to the members.
CONTRIBUTION TO PROFESSIONAL SOCIETIES :
1. President of Broadcast Engineering Society of India (BES), a society to advance and disseminate knowledge and best practices in broadcasting elevating expertise of broadcast engineering professionals.
2. Vice President of Asia Pacific Broadcast Union (ABU), the biggest broadcasting Union of the World with a professional association comprising 280+ State Broadcaster members in 57 countries, championed international recognition of the organization’s & India’s Soft Power.
3. IETE President (2024-25), Governing Council Member (2021-24).
IETE PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY :
Has been Additional Director General of India’s Public Service Broadcaster & headed:
1. Global Outreach Division – steered presence of Public Broadcaster in 190 countries.
2. Has had extensive coordination meetings with PMO, Cabinet Secretariat, Nm Aayog, Ministry of Finance, MHA, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Ministry of I&B, DoT, MeitY, DST, and various ministries of Government of India.
3. Headed key divisions: Technology, Planning of Transmitters-Studios-Satellites, Global, Domestic Distribution, DTH, Marketing and Central Archives.
4. Executed various Broadcasting Projects in India and overseas.
5. Lead experience in the Administration, Establishment, Finance, Vigilance.
KEY RECOGNITIONS :
1. Member of Technical Advisory Group of ICC (INSAT Coordination Committee) of ISRO.
2. Winner: ABU Broadcast Engineering Excellence Awards 2018.
3. Vice Chairman, Technical Bureau, ABU.
