About IETE

The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India’s leading recognised professional society devoted to the advancement of Science and Technology of Electronics, Telecommunication & IT. Founded in 1953.

The IETE is the National Apex Professional body of Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer Science and IT Professionals. It serves more than 1,25,000 members (including Corporate, Student and ISF members) through various 63 Centres, spread all over India and abroad.

The Institution provides leadership in Scientific and Technical areas of direct importance to the national development and economy. Government of India has recognised IETE as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) and also notified as an educational Institution of national eminence.

MOU was signed between IETE and IEEE on 20 Aug 2023 for technical collaboration, by then President IETE Prof (Dr) V Gunasekhar Reddy, DIG(Retd) and President IEEE Prof Saifur Rahman

Governing Council Meeting held on 13 Sep 2024 at Bhopal. Presenting Memento to the President (2023-24) and GC Members (2021-24).

Board of Research, Innovations & Standards (BoRIS)

  • To identify specific research areas in the respective domains and prepare research and policy papers.
  • To propagate the information by conducting webinars and skill development programs.
  • To setup IETE standards on the pattern of IEEE.
  • To identify funding agencies and seek the research grants.
  • To align present fellowships with identified domains, explore collaborative efforts with industry, government research agencies, academia, national/international, support and consult for Incubation Center and startups.
  • To collaborate with DRDO, CSIR Laboratories, DST, AICTE and BIS

Technical Programmes Outreach Committee(TPOC)

  • To create a vibrant technology environment through planning, supporting, encouraging, approving and organizing various National and International Seminars/ Conferences, Workshops, Tutorials, Exhibitions in the areas of technologically & socially relevant cutting edge areas.
  • To plan and organize Annual IETE Convention and Mid Term Symposium (MTS) including theme & location.
  • To plan and coordinate with Zonal Mentors & Centres to conduct Zonal Seminars and ISF Congress in all the Zones.
  • Organise National Technical Paper Contest (NTPC) annually.

Centres Activities Growth Committee(CAGC)

•  Periodic/Annual review of status of Centres/Sub-Centres/Professional Activity Centres (PACs).
•  All matters concerning functioning and growth of Centres, Sub-Centres, Professional Activity Centres.
•  All matters related to election for Executive Comiitee of the Centres/Sub- Centres.
•  Periodic review of the rules/ regulations as applicable to functioning of Centres/Sub-Centres/Professional Activity Centres.
•  All matters connected with creation, up-gradation and utilization of Infrastructures at the Centres.
